Samsung Galaxy S7 release date, news: Samsung rolls out press invites for Unpacked Event 2016; Galaxy S7 and its other variants expected to appear
Samsung has just recently sent out the press invites for their Unpacked Event that is set to be held a day before the annual Mobile World Congress 2016 (or commonly referred to as MWC 2016), according to the report from Tech Radar. Samsung's event will take place in Barcelona on Feb. 21, 2016 at 7 p.m. CET.
As for the flagships that are set to be showcased on the event, many tech enthusiasts have presumed that the Samsung Galaxy S7 is going to be the highlight of their presentation. However, Tech Radar speculates that other variants of the device might also be unveiled during the event like its high-end version, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge or even the premium iteration, the Galaxy S7 Edge Plus.
However, there's no guarantee that these high-end variants will get a spotlight in the upcoming event. With that in mind, fans are highly advised to take this one with a tiny pinch of salt, and wait for further announcements coming from Samsung regarding the official unveiling.
In terms of specification, the Galaxy S7 had recently been spotted on AnTuTu sporting Qualcomm's next-gen chipset, Snapdragon 820 with the integrated Adreno 530 graphic processing unit accompanying it. Furthermore, its CPU was said to be supported by 4 GB of RAM and a large internal memory capacity of 64 GB.
As for the handset's outer appearance, the benchmark result had suggested that it will come with a 5.1-inch screen size with a display resolution of 2,560 x 1,440, which is pretty much the same as its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S6.
In terms of camera specification, Samsung's Galaxy S7 is expected to be equipped with the company's latest in-house lens, BRITCELL, with 12 MP for its main and a 5 MP front-facing snapper for the fans who like to take selfies.
Of course, these specifications are still unofficial. Needless to say, better consider these as mere speculations for now until proven otherwise.
