Samsung Galaxy S6 rumors roundup: Showing at 'Unpacked' event, features, release date
Samsung is on a roll, if rumors are to be believed. After announcing the September arrival of a new Samsung Galaxy Note, Gear smartwatch, and the possible development of a virtual reality headset, The Wall Street Journal reports that the South Korea tech-giant might just unveil the Samsung Galaxy S6 this year too.
"Facing heightened competition in the second half of the year, Samsung will go back to a tried-and-true playbook: staging a global launch for a new high-end smartphone," WSJ writes.
Samsung is undoubtedly attempting to overwhelm its competitors and releasing two new smartphones late in the year just might do the trick.
While Samsung has not officially commented on the existence of Galaxy S6, rumors are adamant that Samsung could surprise consumers by releasing the S5 successor so soon.
PC Advisor, however, believes that Samsung will stick to its trend of releasing one phone per year:
"Samsung, like other hardware manufacturers has got into a rhythm of launching a new flagship smartphone once per year," a prediction states.
Confirmation or no confirmation, Samsung fans are hopeful that the new Galaxy S6 will contain several never before seen features.
PC Advisor predicts that the Samsung Galaxy S6 might have a curved display and may be 5.5 inches, diagonally. As for its internal parts, S6 may run on Qualcomm's 64-bit processors and Android L rather than Samsung's own OS, Tizen.
