Despite the controversy surrounding Samsung, it can't be denied that there are still loyal fans of the brand who are curious as to what the company may be up to. As, without question, the faulty battery of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 has put the brand in an unwanted spotlight, the latest in the rumor mill is that Samsung will be changing the nomenclature of the device next in the series of Galaxy Note, which it will unveil in spring next year.

Without question, this is one of the toughest times for Samsung. With various reports from around the world claiming that Galaxy Note 7 owners are complaining of the gadget's battery exploding, it is pretty obvious that the brand will need to invest a lot in its public relations department, in order to redeem its tarnished reputation.

However, despite the unfavorable reports about the Galaxy Note 7, there are still loyal fans of Samsung awaiting what the brand's next move will be. Reportedly, Samsung is set to unveil the supposed Galaxy Note 8 as early as February next year in the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain.

Nonetheless, because of the controversy caused by the Galaxy Note 7, rumors claiming that the company will change the name of the supposed Galaxy Note 8 are becoming louder. Tech pundits opine that, if the rumors that Samsung will really release the device under a different name, it would be totally understandable. After all, the name Galaxy Note has already cost Samsung a good amount of money — thanks to the controversial Note 8. 

Meanwhile, other sources claim that there may be no more Galaxy Note 8, or whatever its new name is, as, after all, the Note series is almost becoming like the S series of the brand. Instead, Samsung will release two new phones next year, which will be a continuation of the S series and will be called Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus and will both come with curved screens.
