'Resident Evil: The Final Chapter' cast shares photos from the set; 'Orange Is the New Black's' Ruby Rose to portray Abigail
It has long been confirmed that production for the reportedly last installment in the "Resident Evil" film franchise is underway, although some remained skeptical. But now, their skepticism will be erased as the cast of "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" recently shared still images taken from the set.
Fans of tough women undoubtedly rejoiced when one photo showing Milla Jovovich and Ali Larter prepping for a scene was shared on social media. Larter, who's reprising her role as Claire Redfield, can be seen still relatively clean, if looking grim. Beside her is a banged-up Jovovich, whose character Alice is on a mission to save what's left of humanity.
Other photos show Eoin Macken, William Levy, Fraser James and another new addition, Japanese model Rola. There's also one still with Jovovich, Larter and the others in what appears to be a good, old-fashioned Mexican stand-off, which doesn't bode well for the remaining humans in the movie.
The other stars of "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" have also taken to social media to share what's happening on the set and to start generating buzz for the long-awaited installment.
Larter posted a photo of herself all decked out in her Claire Redfield outfit on Day 1 of shooting.

Macken also gamely posted a photo of himself with Levy. The two appear to be having fun despite the guns and the danger surrounding them.
Jovovich and Larter are set to be joined by returning "Resident Evil" cast members Wentworth Miller and "Game of Thrones" actor Iain Glen. The two are reprising their roles as Chris Redfield and Dr. Isaacs, respectively. Shawn Roberts is also back as Albert Wesker.
"Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" is also said to introduce a new character, Abigail, to be played by "Orange is the New Black's" Ruby Rose. The Australian model can clearly pull off the tough woman role so it would be interesting to see her character play off against Jovovich and Larter.
It hasn't been confirmed yet but "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" is expected to hit movie theaters on Sept. 2, 2016.
