Resident Evil remastered HD reboot to receive early 2015 release date
Capcom announced on August 5 that a re-mastered Resident Evil video game will be available in early 2015 for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC across North America and Europe.
"The hugely popular Resident Evil series, having sold over 61 million units to date, returns to its roots with a remastered version of the critically acclaimed masterpiece, Resident Evil," a parcel of the press release reads.
The game was originally launched in 1996 and was remade in 2002, and gained mixed reviews from pundits and players alike.
The press release added, "Both fans of the franchise who want a trip down memory lane and those who have yet to experience the game that coined the term survival horror for the gaming world will appreciate this definitive re-visit of that iconic 2002 Resident Evil title."
Through a video presentation, the Japanese game publisher of the survival-horror game has revealed new story details and gameplay.
The new Resident Evil will feature high quality resolution and 3D model technology that include 1080p support on next-gen consoles.
To make graphics more realistic, developers incorporated Bloom filters and resolution upgrades.
The re-mastered 5.1 surround support will also provide gaming experience through high quality audio effects.
The game will take place in the notorious urban space of Raccoon City and players are given the liberty to choose from the characters of Special Tactics and Rescue Service (STARS) team members Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine.
Those that will purchase the digital copy will be able to choose game controls – a choice between the new and classic system.
The re-mastered HD version of Resident Evil has already been spotted in Steam.
The dawn of the Resident Evil reboot could bring back much-needed boost to Capcom following reports of sales decline due to lack in major titles.
