'Reign' season 4 spoilers: The men Mary will marry
Two men have been revealed to vie for Mary's (Adelaide Kane) heart in the upcoming fourth season of "Reign." Their names are Lord Darnley and Bothwell, who will be portrayed by actors Will Kemp and Adam Croasdell, respectively.
The love story of Mary and Francis (Toby Regbo) is one of the most romantic ones ever told on the small screen. After Francis' death in the second season, it has been hard for Mary to move on and she spent her time doing everything to protect her nation instead. In the coming season, she will meet two men.
Lord Danley is described as a nobleman with a claim to the English throne. Just like Francis, he has a mother whose love for the claim to the throne outweighs her love for her own son. Their union could bring the end to Elizabeth's (Rachel Skarsten) reign and could extend each one's reign in two.
Bothwelll, on the other hand, is described as a warm-hearted bad boy who is known to be very in love with her. In history books, Bothwell has been accused of murdering someone close to Mary but, just like other events in the series, it is not yet certain if that historical fact will be shown.
Danley is further described as breezily confident, charming, warm, and wildly ambitious. He is believed to become Mary's second husband with Bothwell becoming a third. Could it be that the person close to Mary that Bothwell murders is Danley? Both actors have been tapped to star in three episodes so far.
It can be recalled that Mary and Francis' journey was a bittersweet one. They were forced into the marriage, but they eventually fell in love with each other dearly. But loving Francis was not easy because of his womanizing ways. When their relationship started to go smoothly, Francis had to die twice, the second which led to his final demise.
"Reign" season 4 has started production with the premiere yet to be announced.
