PS4 Neo 2016 release date in August at the Gamescom or September at Tokyo Game Show
A lot of gamers are looking forward to the release of Sony PlayStation's 4K console, the PS4 Neo. Before its release, there is already so much hype about the console and several speculations have been circulating on the Internet.
The newest predictions online is from a PS4 Reddit forum, where fans are given a free platform to air their guesses on the Sony's upcoming gaming device. Since it is rumored to be coming out in fall, its announcement could possibly take place in September at the Tokyo Game Show or in August at Sony's PR event in the Gamescom.
Meanwhile, electronics retailer GameStop clarified earlier reports saying CEO Paul Raines has confirmed that the PS4 Neo release will happen later this year. This is after fans took his interview with CNBC as a confirmation.
In the interview, he said, "Yes, there will be a new Nintendo console launch in March 2017. But remember, there are two different form factors: a PS4 Neo and an Xbox One new slim version. So there will be some activity and upgrades, along with the VR."
After the statement spread like wildfire online, GameStop PR rectified the issue with a statement: "Paul did not say that Xbox One S and PlayStation Neo hardware units would be coming for the holidays. The anchor was the one who referenced the holiday period."
In other news, game developer and publisher Electronic Arts (EA) revealed at its recent earnings call about the steps they are taking with the upcoming Sony and Microsoft console upgrades.
According to WCCFTech, EA CEO Andrew Wilson believes that their company can deliver quality games across different consoles, regardless of its scale. He said that EA is in "a very strong place." Adjusting to upgraded console is not new to them after all, because like the consoles, they have also built cross-platform, cross-console, and scalable architecture for PC.
Sony is yet to announce the official release date of PS4 Neo.
