'Power' season 3 premiere spoilers: The partners go against each other
The previous season has seen staunch allies James "Ghost" St. Patrick (Owen Hardwick) and Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora) at odds with each other and that falling-out will be further carried out in season 3 of "Power."
Ghost has always struggled with his attempt to leave the life of being drug kingpin, but the events in the first two seasons have made it difficult for him to do so. Through it all, his business partner and friend Tommy never left his side, but after discovering the things Ghost had done behind his back, Tommy is devastated. Now, many people who have grudge against Ghost will want him on his side.
Tommy's loyalty will be the central story of the premiere episode of season 3. Sikora said, "People follow the Tommy story because it's a street story." He continued, "You don't know what's coming from Tommy because he is real, raw and natural. He's not calculating or manipulative — he's the most honest and most loyal character in the show." He then teased, "The only question is, will he be all of that this season."
Season 2 finale has seen the return of Kanan (50 Cent/Curtis Jackson) who used to mentor both Ghost and Tommy. Kana is bent on having his revenge on the Ghost who thought he has left him for dead. On the surprise twist, Sikora said, "It is a great think to bring up Kanan now that Tommy is on his own." He further teases about the role he would play in the falling out of Tommy and Ghost. Tommy is in a vulnerable place but would he see through the manipulation of Kanan?
Aside from the feud between the two lead characters, Sikora says that in season 3, "You can expect a lot of love — whether that is good or bad is up to you." He also talked about rumors saying a "Power" movie is in the plans.
He said 50 Cent, who also co-produces the show, has been talking about it but it will be made up of many flashbacks.
"Power" season 3 premieres July 17 on STARZ.
