'Power' season 3 spoilers, plot news: Angela and Ghost patch things up
James "Ghost" St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick) and Angela Valdes (Lela Loren) are back together in the upcoming season of "Power."
In the teaser released for the premiere, the drug kingpin and the assistant U.S. attorney appear to have made up after the messy break-up last installment. In the clip, Ghost is saying that his life now is the club that he manages. It is also obvious that Angela is a very important person in his life. They are shown hand in hand while out strolling along the streets. When someone asks Ghost to return to the old set-up, he declines and says he is happy with the way things are now.
Unfortunately for the lovebirds, Ghost's ex-wife Tasha (Naturi Naughton) is still watching them like a hawk. When the opportunity arises, she approaches Angela to warn her about her continued association with him. Ghost's former friend Tommy (Joseph Sikora) is now his greatest foe. It seems like Tommy must kill Ghost or the bad guys will target his family. Although he looks conflicted, Tommy's expression at the end of the trailer is resolute as he readies the gun that will kill his ex-buddy.
Aside from Tommy, Ghost must also be wary of Kanan (Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson). Although it looked like he was a goner last season, the video provides a brief glimpse of his angry face. If Kanan is indeed alive, he will waste no time going after Ghost.
Meanwhile, rumors of a "Power" movie have been making rounds online. The storyline will allegedly focus on Kanan and his backstory. Sikora shared his thoughts about the topic with the New York Post.
"I can't give away if there are any flashbacks in the show, but [50 Cent] is consistently talking about doing a 'Power' movie that is all flashback. And there would be different characters playing teenage versions of Ghost, Tommy and [Ghost's wife] Tasha. There is a back story showing Kanan bringing up Tommy and Ghost in the streets and seeing how Tommy had to negotiate his color living in the hood," Sikora shares with the New York Post.
"Power" season 3 premieres Sunday, July 17, at 9 p.m. EST on Starz.
