'Pokémon Sun and Moon' Alola forms: Pinsir, Spearow, Gyarados, Zubat, and Dragonite get Alola forms

(Pokémon Official Website) Pokémon Sun and Moon will both be released in November 2016.

In less than three months, Nintendo's upcoming duo of role-playing games — "Pokémon Sun" and "Pokémon Moon" — will finally be released. While fans are excited for the overall game, they are also very curious about the Alola forms of the Pokémon.

The upcoming "Pokemon Sun and Moon" game is set in the island of Alola. According to the game's official site, Alola island has a "diverse ecology made up of Pokémon that have lived as natives of the Alola region for generations, along with Pokémon that have more recently arrived in Alola from other regions."

Because of the region's different microclimates, it is expected that several Pokémon will have a different form from the same kind that come from other regions. For the new titles' region, they are called Alola forms.

According to the official Pokémon website, the Pokémon which have Alola forms include Pinsir, Spearow, Gyarados, Zubat, and Dragonite. Although the five characters are part of both Sun and Moon, some of them may not have their Alola forms in one of the two titles.

There are reports saying that if Dragonite gets an Alola form then it is possible that Raichu, Marowak, and some of the older Pokémon will be getting an Alolan upgrade as well. However, since the Pokémon website has noted that not all five of the confirmed Alolan forms will be appearing on both Sun and Moon, it is also possible that not all of the 151 original Pokémon will appear in the upcoming games.

At the recently concluded Gamescom, Nintendo held a live "Pokémon Sun and Moon" gameplay session where it was revealed that a new Pokémon named Turtonator will be introduced in the upcoming titles. The new Pokémon is expected to be a Fire/Dragon type with Shell Armor and Shell Trap skills.

"Pokémon Sun" and "Pokémon Moon" comes out in Japan and the U.S. on Nov. 18 for the Nintendo 3DS.
