Pokémon GO Plus release date July 31 in the US; ships Aug. 31 in the UK
The massive popularity of developer Niantic Lab's "Pokemon GO" game has put a lot of hype to the release of its accompanying device called the Pokemon GO Plus. Here are the latest details of the wristband device.
Even though "Pokemon GO" itself has been performing phenomenally, a lot of gamers still want to get their hands on the accompanying device, Pokemon GO Plus, in order to boost their gaming experience and get the needed advantage.
According to Pokemon GO's official website, the said device is a small wristband tethered to your smartphone via Bluetooth low energy. It notifies through LED and vibration when there is a Pokemon nearby, letting the gamers enjoy the game without the need of looking at their smartphones.
According to reports, the recent Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), it was announced that the game will be releasing in the United States on July 31 and Aug. 31 in the United Kingdom. As for its design, it is a mix of a Poke Ball case cover shaped like a Google Maps pin. It has a 46 x 33 x 17.55 mm dimension and it weighs 13 grams. It will cost $34.99 or £34.99.
Also, it is reported that the wristband device would only work with the Apple iOS 8 or higher and the Android compatibility is still in the works. Because of the anticipated high demand of the device, UK will apparently allow one Plus device purchase per customer.
The device may bring a lot of convenience to players. However, there is a bit of a downside to it as well. The slick one-button-catch feature only applies to Pokemons that have already previously been caught by the players. Since it also has no display screen, there is no way to check the status of your hunt and the entire game, unless you check them on the smartphone.
