'Pirates of the Caribbean' 5 update: crew to shoot scenes in Vancouver next month
Right now, all seems calm when it pertains to news about the film "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales," but this could change soon as it is rumored that scenes for it are going to be shot in Vancouver soon. Elsewhere, it appears that the film is on track to be released in May 2017.
Reporting on the filming of "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales," which is the fifth film in the franchise, KFTV states that "pick-up" shots are due to take place in Vancouver in April. It is not clear, however, what these shots will pertain to and which characters will be featured in them.
Most of the filming was done last year for "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales." It took place in Australia over the period of 100 days, but at that time, there was news that filming was delayed on several occasions. These production delays might have resulted in the need for pick-up shots to be filmed; however, the studio behind the film, Disney, has not provided any details regarding this.
Johnny Depp who plays the part of Captain Jack Sparrow will again be in the lead for "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales." The actor was involved in an accident during the filming of it last year and production had to be shut down for weeks, while he recuperated. So it is likely that Depp could be featured in some of the upcoming scenes scheduled to be filmed in Vancouver.
Orlando Bloom is set to return to the fifth film in the franchise and once more play the role of Will Turner. This has left many industry analysts speculating that the upcoming film will try and recreate the look and vibe of the first film, which turned out to be a huge success. Importantly, the fourth film "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" did not go down well with critics but managed to still bring in a lot of money at the box office.
