All good things must come to an end — especially the filming of what is expected to be a blockbuster hit; else, what is there for moviegoers to watch? This week, the filming for "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" has officially come to an end.

Directors Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg have been filming the fifth installment in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise in Australia the last few months. And a few weeks ago, Rønning confirmed that it is a wrap for the fantasy swashbuckler film.

Along with a selfie on the beach set, Rønning told his Instagram followers, "That's a wrap on Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales! Thank you #australia #pirates5."

This does not mean that the movie is going to hit theaters soon. The fifth "Pirates of the Caribbean" movie is still set for a 2017 release. From here until then, there are still a lot of post-production work, such as sound recording and editing.

"Pirate of the Caribbean 5" will see Jack Sparrow battling it out with Captain Salazar and his army of ghost pirates. To help him in this battle, Sparrow wills the Trident of Poseidon mythical beings to turn over to him the power to control the seas.

Reprising their roles in the movie are Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow, Orlando Bloom as Will Turner, Geoffrey Rush as Captain Hector Barbossa, and Kevin McNally as Master Gibbs. Stepping in as the new villain Captain Salazar is Javier Bardem. Also in the movie are love interests-slash-audience surrogates Henry (Brenton Thwaites) and Carina (Kaya Scodelario).

The "Pirates of the Caribbean" ranks 10th in the highest-grossing film franchises. Disney hopes to hold on to that spot (or maybe even inch forward a few steps) with the fifth movie.

"Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" is scheduled for release on July 7, 2017.
