'Persona 5' release date rumors: summer launch still likely?
Not too long ago, fans had expected "Persona 5" to be released sometime in the summer. But with official details still lacking, is it still wise to expect a debut within that timeline to take place?
At this point, the lack of news can mean different things for the future of the upcoming RPG title, though there may be a few reasons to believe that the game will still be able to follow that summer timeline and make its debut within the next few months.
As N4BB noted, summer in Japan begins near the end of July and runs through August, so if Atlus has designs on releasing the game within that timeframe, then it would seem as though they still have some time to make an announcement.
The lack of news to this point may also just be Atlus wanting to make sure that the game is truly nearing completion before they come forward with an official release date announcement in order to avoid potentially having to announce that the title has been delayed should some issues pop up.
Conversely, another perspective on the lack of official news regarding "Persona 5" can also be taken as a sign that the game is still far from completion.
The absence of any new updates from Atlus could even be an indicator that the upcoming game may be pushed further back into the 2016 calendar.
According to Bidness ETC, there may even be a chance that "Persona 5" is not released until after "Final Fantasy 15" makes its debut in September.
Unfortunately, until Atlus says anything definite about the game's release date, the only thing fans can do is wait and hope that the next installment of the JRPG franchise is coming sooner rather than later.
More news about "Persona 5" and its official release date may be made available later this year.
