'Persona 5' news: Atlus senior project manager Yu Namba wants the game to be 'authentic as possible'
Rumors regarding Atlus green-lighting the upcoming installment of the widely successful "Persona" franchise have been circling around since 2009. And while the game's production was confirmed two years ago, no announcement has been made about what date "Persona 5" would be out.
Despite the lack of updates, there are several news that surround the highly anticipated game.
"Persona 5," which was officially announced in 2013 with the release of a cryptic trailer, is a role-playing game and is the sixth installment of the popular "Persona" series. It follows the life of a high schooler after he transfers to Shujin High School in Tokyo. Overwhelmed by the change in scenery, he starts to moonlight as a cat burglar eventually labelled as "The Phantom."
The production for "Persona 5" has been going on for at least four years, and for a while, gamers who have patronized the series' other titles were worried that the release of the title is delayed yet again.
The developers previously claimed that the game would be released by 2015, thus the reason why many gamers looked forward to E3 for its unveiling. Unfortunately, they found themselves disappointed as as Atlus did not showcase "Persona 5" at the annual trade show.
Thankfully, Yu Namba, Senior Project Manager for Atlus, gave fans a glimpse into the development of the game in a recent interview with Siliconera. Namba shared that the developers are doing their best to capture the essence of the game despite it being set in a totally different setting.
"We'll see! We will check the material as closely as possible and try to capture the essence of what the developer is trying to tell. We want to be authentic as possible," said Namba.
No specific date has been set for "Persona 5's" release date. However, previous reports have confirmed that the game would be out before the end of 2015.
