'Outlander' season 2 premiere expected this spring; Claire and Frank back together
The two final episodes of "Outlander" season 2 is now in production, producer Matthew Roberts confirmed via Twitter. And fans have a lot to look forward to with the second season.
As the finale draws closer and production at its last stage, some interesting details have come out, courtesy of no other than Caitriona Balfe who plays the role of the the lead character Claire Randall.
According to TVLine, Balfe revealed what Claire feels about her sudden and complicated reunion with Frank Randall (Tobias Menzies). "There is that reverse thing where every time she looks at Frank, she can't help but see Black Jack [Randall]," the actress said.
This will be difficult on her as she and Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) are still coping with the horrors they have experienced back in Scotland and dealing with Claire's pregnancy.
Jamie is "definitely still affected by the trauma" of his rape at the hands of Black Jack, Heughan told reporters at the Television Critics Association winter press tour in Pasadena, California. However, the actor clarified that this is not going to be the focus of the story.
"And there is a great revelation that cures him, or brings him out of himself," he added. He cannot divulge what the revelation is, but "it certainly brings back the old Jamie."
Meanwhile, a report from Scotland Now revealed that the almost-dead Gaelic language is gaining popularity because of the series. Murtagh Fraser (Duncan Lacroix), Jamie and some other characters often speak Gaelic, which has made fans curious about the Scottish language.
Murtagh, on the other hand, is said to have a new look in the upcoming season. A photo posted on Twitter shows actor Lacroix sporting a combed-back hair and wearing a new costume.
Producers have yet to announce the exact release date of "Outlander" season 2, but it is already expected to return on Starz some time in March or April.
