Oppo R9 and Oppo R9 Plus all set to launch, full specs revealed
It's not a secret anymore that the Chinese electronics manufacturer Oppo has something new for its consumers and it's all set to be launched already. According to a report by 9to5Google, Oppo will be launching its newest devices, the R9 and the R9 Plus, on March 17.
The detail was first announced in a post on Weibo wherein it said that the premium midrange devices will be unveiled in Beijing Performing Arts Center in China. However, even before it could be officially introduced to the public, there are already details about the specs and features of the R9 and R9 Plus.
The smartphones were once spotted on a TENAA listing, giving fans a glimpse of what the devices will be like. Further details are revealed when leakster Steve Hemmerstoffer (@stagueve) released the complete specifications for both handsets. The leak from Hemmerstoffer is parallel to the TENAA listing.
As detailed in Phone Arena, the Oppo R9 will sport a 5.5-inch FHD AMOLED display with a pixels resolution of 1080 x 1920 and a pixel density of 401ppi. It is said to be powered with an octa-core CPU. The Technews also reported that it will carry a Mediatek Helio X10 processor. Moreover, the Oppo R9 is expected to have 4 GB of RAM with a native storage of 64 GB, which can be expanded further via microSD card.
Mobipicker noted that it will run with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop topped with Oppo's own customized UI ColorOS 3.0. It's also said to have a fingerprint scanner. The device has been touted already to be a camera-focused phone, thus the camera specs include a 13-megapixel front camera and 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash. Oppo R9 has a battery power of 2,850 mAh and features VOOC Rapid Charging.
Meanwhile, the Oppo R9 Plus will sport a 6-inch display with a 1080 x 1920 FHD resolution. It is equipped with an octa-core CPU and Snapdragon 652 chipset, along with 4 GB of RAM and an internal storage of 64 GB or 128 GB. Its rear and front cameras are 16 megapixels, while its power source is a whopping 4,120 mAh battery.
Both devices are expected to be priced at around $385 and $460, respectively.
