'Once Upon a Time' season 6 spoilers, plot: New stories to be told; Evil Queen, Dr. Archie Hopper return
The hype surrounding "Once Upon a Time" is real — and it's only building up even more. Season 6 will see new stories and adventures come to light as the Land of Untold Stories is opened.
In one of EW's Spoiler Room issues, executive producer Edward Kitsis recalled a scene in the very first episode of the show. "What's funny is in the pilot if you watch when Emma sees the wolf that stops her from leaving town, the book flips open and we see all these worlds," he said. "It's time to tell new stories, broaden the show and move forward."
Kitsis also revealed that the reason why these stories have not seen the light of day is because they were put on hold. "They were pushed on pause," he said. And with season 6 pressing play on these stories, fans are eager to find out how they will affect the characters and the storyline.
It was previously reported that the Evil Queen may be back to wreak havoc. Season 5 saw Regina's (Lana Parrilla) evil persona separated from her, forming the Evil Queen. This time, however, no empathetic feelings will be getting in her way. It has become obvious that the Evil Queen's return will prove to be a threat.
In fact, the official Twitter account of "Once Upon a Time" teased her reappearance in a poster. Captioned "Long live the Queen," the photo saw Regina's face, in Evil Queen form, looking direct and malevolent. An apple can also be seen, with lightning forming a divide between the fruit's red and black color.
Long live the Queen.
Speaking of returns, it has been exclusively confirmed by TVLine that Dr. Archie Hopper will appear in the premiere of season 6. Last seen in season 4, Raphael Sbarge will be bringing Jiminy Cricket's human self back to life.
"Once Upon a Time" season 6 will premiere on Sept. 25, Sunday, on ABC.
