New LG K series smartphones spotted with Snapdragon 430

LG is ramping up its K family clan and two smartphones that could be part of all that were recently spotted over at Geekbench.

Seen were the LG K530 and LG K535, devices that underwent testing which also spilled some of their actual specifications.

On one end is the LG K530, presumably the low end of the two devices. The K530 reportedly sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC highlighted by a 1.2 GHz octa-core Cortex A53 CPU, along with an Adreno 505 GPU.

Aside from that, the LG K530 will also come with 2 GB of RAM and was tested using Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow on board. If the benchmark is to be used as a basis, the device can run up to 1.4 GHz despite the fact that official documents claim that the chip cannot run over 1.2 GHz. Such could be an error mentioned in the benchmarking tests.

As for the LG K535, the other device model carries the same Snapdragon 430 chipset and shares almost similar features with the K530 sans the RAM which is at 3 GB. Though their model names are different, it is speculated that these could be two separate models for release in certain regions. LG has been known to practice such before, even for their midrange models with probably more spec variances.

The two phones are categorized in the entry-level or mid-range phone class and likely to append the current model in the K family such as the LG K5 and K8. The only problem here is that it remains to be seen when the LG K530 or K535 will come out or if it will actually be made official.

Going beyond that, it also remains to be seen if either device would make an appearance in the U.S. market. For now, details on that is sketchy, though seeing a new member come joining the K family mix makes a lot of sense.
