'NCIS: Los Angeles' season 8 spoilers: Plans for Miguel Ferrer's tribute episode revealed
The last look at Miguel Ferrer's remarkable character Owen Granger will be seen on the next episode of "NCIS: Los Angeles" season 8, but the cast and crew of the series are still planning to honor their late co-star in an upcoming episode this March.
Entertainment Weekly revealed that Ferrer, who succumbed to cancer on Jan. 19, will be given a tribute through a cover version of "Knocking on Heaven's Door" that will be played by the veteran actor's band, The Jenerators. The March 5 episode will also end with a remembrance title card in memory of the late actor.
Ferrer, who was 61 years old at the time of death, managed to shoot the episode titled "Payback" before he passed away. The episode is slated to air on Sunday, Feb. 19.
The synopsis for the upcoming episode reveals that the Los Angeles team of NCIS will be enveloped with extreme emotions after one of them gets abducted and tortured by the mole. One of them will also discover that he is being betrayed by a person close to his heart.
On the other hand, actor Eric Christian Olsen hinted in an interview with TVLine that the relationship of his character Marty Deeks to Daniela Ruah's Kensi Blythe will finally start to improve after Kensi's struggle with her accident. But things will not exactly be smooth-sailing in an instant.
"We're just coming out of the woods now, but the mole [hunt], all that, plays a very large role in what's next. How [showrunner] Scott [Gemmill] and our writers handled that [reveal], I did not see it coming," Olsen stated in the interview.
Fans are also expecting to see Kensi and Deeks tie the knot in the future episodes of "NCIS: Los Angeles" season 8, since their relationship must be put on hold due to her fateful accident.
