MTV VMA 2016 live stream (winners, results): Watch online performances from Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande and Britney Spears
It's that time of year again when music artists come together for a night of fashion, performance and even controversies. This year's MTV Video Music Awards will be on Aug. 28, Sunday and the event will be broadcast live from Madison Square Garden, New York starting at 9 p.m. ET.
DJ Khaled will lead the pre-show event at 8 p.m. while the red carpet event where stars show off their creative outfits will begin at 6:15 p.m. The show will also be livestreamed on MTV's official site and this will start at 7 p.m.
People are also looking forward to seeing who the host of this big music awards show will be, and for this year, it seems that MTV hasn't announced someone yet. It remains to be seen if the network will reveal the event's official host ahead of its airing. Last year, Miley Cyrus took the stage to host the show.
Children of the 90's will rejoice as Britney Spears will be performing at the event. This should be considered as a great comeback for the mulit-awarded pop star as she performs the lead single "Make Me" from her latest album "Glory."
Rihanna will also take the stage to perform. Also to deliver their acts are Ariana Grande, who will be sharing the stage with Nicki Minaj; the current hitmakers The Chainsmokers with Halsey; Nick Jonas and Ty Dolla $ign, and Future, among others.
As for winner predictions, several reports suggest that Beyoncé is likely to take home the iconic Moonman statue. In fact, she's predicted to receive not one but a few of them, considering she has received 11 nominations for her album "Lemonade." Adele could also bag the "Video of the Year" and other categories. Also likely to win are Drake, Justin Bieber and Kanye West.
Fans should also be on the lookout for the fresh faces of music which include Bryson Tiller, Lukas Graham and Zara Larsson. TIME also reported that the event is likely to showcase tributes to legendaries David Bowie and Prince, as the year 2016 is when music lost both of these iconic artists.
