'Mortal Kombat X' news: Ed Boon hints at arrival of second DLC
"Mortal Kombat X" released its first and latest downloadable content a few months ago. While fans of the videogame franchise were indeed very excited to see the addition of "Jason Voorhees" and "Predator" to the game, they are now very much ready for the upcoming "Mortal Kombat X" Kombat Pack 2 release.
NetherRealm Studios, however, has yet to make an announcement as to when the expandable pack would be available for purchase. Thankfully, the series creator has given hints on what gamers can expect from "Kombat Pack 2."
"Mortal Kombat X," which was first released for PC, Playstation and Xbox One early this year in April, is a fighting videogame and is the 21st installment for the successful "Mortal Kombat" franchise.
While the game was released after "Mortal Kombat: Komplete Edition," which was released in 2012, "Mortal Kombat X" is developed to be the sequel of the 2011 release, "Mortal Kombat."
Like the versions before it, "X" consists of two players or one player and one CP fighting each other using several regular and special attacks.
Last March, NetherRealm released the first downloadable content for the game. The DLC included two guest characters and two characters from former versions – Tremor from "Mortal Kombat: Special Forces" and Tanya from "Mortal Kombat 4."
There has yet to be an announcement on when the second DLC would be released. However, in a tweet sent out only a couple of hours ago, Ed Boon, director of the game, has hinted that an announcement is impending.
"@therealsindel: @noobde I can feel an announcement coming !! EB: If you look around, the whole world's coming together now..." read Boon's tweet.
The 51-year-old programmer also gave hints on which new possible characters might be included in the expansion pack, ultimately giving a very coy answer when asked whether or not Deadpool would be the newest addition to the roster.
"@ExodusJahdaan: @noobde Nobody is going to see DEADPOOL for dlc right? EB: Marvel's Deadpool? Hmm....."
