'Minecraft: Pocket Edition' update: A look at the latest add-ons
Playing the mobile version of one of the most popular games just got better with the add-ons released for "Minecraft: Pocket Edition."
"Minecraft" is a block-building digital game that many players have been enjoying since 2011. Initially released for the PC, the game has since reached different gaming platforms such as Xbox, PlayStation, and Wii. The release of the game in pocket edition was welcomed by the market and was soon downloaded on many phones and tablets.
However, the "Minecraft: Pocket Edition" may not be as engaging as the other formats because of the many features it lacks. The game developers are quick to work on the feedback and just recently an ample amount of improvements were released. The add-ons are available for Windows 10 consoles as well.
The add-ons enable gamers to change the rules of the game. In the basic level, for example, a player can change the way the mobs look and behave. Among the add-ons recently released are the "Alien Invasion" and "Castle Siege" maps.
"Alien Invasion" was first seen during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) that happened earlier this year. It is an action-packed map where a player needs to defend the city form alien invasion. "Castle Siege" allows players to either defend the fort from the mob or join the monsters and crash the keep.
Popular additions from the PC version include the Wither, which is a powerful mob and the Ocean Monuments and Guardians, which can be found in in the deeper parts of the ocean maps.
To download the "Minecraft: Pocket Edition" add-ons, one must make sure that he has the the 0.16 or later versions already installed. Instructions based on one's device vary so it is best to refer to this site, https://minecraft.net/en/addons/, for specific instructions.
