The Miami Heat are faring well in their return to the playoffs and now up 2-0 versus the Charlotte Hornets as the series transfers to North Carolina for Games 3 and 4.

After a record-setting 123-91 Game 1 victory, the Heat followed it up with a 115-103 win in Game 2 to distance themselves from the Hornets.

In the second game of the series, the Heat relied on their franchise superstar Dwyane Wade, who posted 28 points, three rebounds, eight assists, two steals and one block.

Wade was not alone as he was assisted by point guard Goran Dragic, fellow veteran Luol Deng and rookie guard Josh Richardson who scored 18, 16, and 15 points respectively.

Center Hassan Whiteside also had a masterful performance for Miami, tallying 17 points, 13 rebounds, one assist, one steal, with two rejections. Because of the way Whiteside is playing in the current campaign, he is expected to sign a lucrative deal once the season ends and he becomes a free agent.

If the Heat are thriving, it is the opposite for the Hornets who are struggling to win.

In the loss, point guard Kemba Walker dropped 29 points, also having four rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block.

Center Al Jefferson contributed 25 points, seven rebounds, one assist and one steal coming off the bench.

Along with the difficulties the Hornets are experiencing, they received bad news as forward Nicolas Batum is likely out for the series after spraining his ankle in Game 2. Batum is one of Charlotte's reliable scorers and is the team's leader in assists and steals in the first two games of the playoffs.

Now, the Hornets must continue their campaign without Batum and defeat the Heat, which they failed to accomplish in Games 1 and 2. They will have the home court advantage for the next two games.
