"Metal Gear Online," the multiplayer mode for the action-adventure game, "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain," has been updated, bringing tweaks and new in-game items for all players.

Update 1.12 reportedly varies in its download size between 91 MB and 595 MB, depending on the gaming platforms players own. The patch is aimed at bringing a fairer gaming experience for everyone.

Patch 1.12 will now display the rankings of players for "Metal Gear Online" based on their mission results. Now, there's also a way for players to know about their rank status after completing each mission and whether this rank will decrease or increase.

Below are just some of the tweaks and adjustments made for the multiplayer mode.

- Adjustments of scores in each mission

- Interrogating Quiet is no longer permitted

- Rush mode changes: this option has been removed from the Automatch mission selection screen. This change does not apply in Xbox 360. The game mode will now occur randomly.

- Automatch option adjustments have been made so that the number of players for each team will be approximately the same.

- Player's quality of network connection will now be displayed.

- Damage and balance adjustments as detailed in Konami's official site.

Not only did this update bring changes to the multiplayer game, but it also affected the base game, "Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain." There will be new skills for new soldiers which should help boost a player's Private Force (PF) rating. To create a force that's much stronger, players need to extract soldiers with new sets of skills.

"Challenge Tasks" now offer online-only task missions. Completing each task will give players rewards. The online tasks will pop up as time progresses. Also, there will be short league battles in addition to the weekly virtual league battles. These short leagues will only last for a day, so players need to check out their PF Rating screen from time to time.

"Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain" is now available on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC, while "Metal Gear Online" is readily available with the base game.
