'Married at First Sight' news: Two experts leaving show after season 3; call out for singles to star in season 4

Season 3 of "Married at First Sight" (MAFS) just aired its finale Tuesday but will be back for the sixth-month check-in on the couples after the season has officially ended.

But just as season 3 of reality television series MAFS came to a close, news came out that two of the four experts on the show will be leaving, Drs. Logan Levkoff and Joseph Cilona. Both gave notice to the MAFS audience via Twitter.

Sexologist Dr. Levkoff, who has guested on "The Rachel Ray Show," tweeted "... It is time for me to pursue my next television adventure..."

Dr. Cilona, who was psychologist expert on MAFS and has been involved in the Live Chin Up movement as part of its panel, posted on his Twitter account, "... I've decided to say goodbye to MAFS..."

The two have not shared their reasons for leaving the show, although speculations are rife that it may be because the success rate of the pairings has been low, with most couples divorcing at the six-week marriage trial period. Others believe that they may be exiting while the show's ratings are still high.

The series had four experts, all through seasons one to three, who pair up the couples. Although they are not seen on the show, they have a growing social media following. The other two experts who remain are sociologist Dr. Pepper Schwartz and humanist chaplain Greg Epstein.

Despite this development, the series is showing promise of having another season, what with the call being sent out for singles to star in season 4. The Chicago Tribune reports that, this month, casting producers are looking for six locals around the Chicago area who are "courageous singles who appear to be between 25 and 40 years old. They should be ready for a committed relationship."

A post on the FYI website also declares a search for singles but in Miami. It is not clear which area will be the final pick for the upcoming season, but it is clear that this social experiment may break ground all over the United States.

So with casting already underway, a fourth season is already in the bag. However, no date has been set for its premiere.

"Married at First Sight" features three couples that have been paired by a panel of experts. The couples agree to take part in an extreme experiment. They meet each other for the first time on their wedding day. The series then documents the events as the relationships develop, from the wedding day and night including their honeymoon, and six weeks of married life. At the culmination of the period, they decide whether to stay married or get divorced. The series gives the stars and their audience a unique perspective of marriage.
