'Man Seeking Woman' season 3 spoilers, cast news: Katie Findlay joins as Josh's new love interest
"Man Seeking Woman" was renewed for a third season earlier this year, but it won't be without new faces. It has been revealed that Katie Findlay has been tapped to join season 3 in a recurring role.
TVLine exclusively reported that Findlay's character will be "pivotal" in the series. She is set to portray a new love interest for Josh (Jay Baruchel). Findlay has previously starred as Rebecca Stutter in ABC's "How to Get Away With Murder" and as Maggie Landers in The CW's short-lived "Sex and the City" prequel, "The Carrie Diaries."
There was a previous speculation that the series would end with season 2, but FXX ultimately renewed it for another season, giving Josh some more time to look for a girlfriend. The second season was generally well-received by critics, with The A.V. Club giving the season 2 ender a B rating, calling it a "sweet, low-key finale."
"'Man Seeking Woman' had another great season this year and continues to offer one of the smartest and funniest takes on dating and relationships on TV today," original programming for FX Networks and FX Productions co-president Nick Grad said. "We are excited to move forward on a third season of 'Man Seeking Woman' with Simon, Jonathan, Andrew, Ian and Lorne, and thank Jay, Eric and Britt for keeping the show so enjoyable."
The third season will consist of 10 episodes, just like the first two seasons. For those unfamiliar with the comedy series, it sees Josh Greenberg struggling through the ups and downs of the dating world. He is accompanied by his sex-crazed best friend, Mike (Eric Andre) and his protective older sister Liz (Britt Lower). Simon Rich, who also wrote the book of short stories from which the show is based, created the series.
Seeing as none of Josh's girlfriends has ever lasted for more than one episode, it will be interesting to see how Findlay will fit into the story.
"Man Seeking Woman" season 3 will premiere in early 2017.
