MacBook Pro 2016 release date, specs: OLED touch display, USB Type-C ports
The 2016 MacBook Pro is one of the most anticipated computers, but there have not been much details yet regarding its release. However, the device is still expected to be launched within the year and it will also feature powerful specs.
According to reports, during the iPhone 7 event that occurred earlier this September, the technology community was anticipating some announcements for the 2016 MacBook Pro as well. However, there may be a possibility that more details will be revealed about the computer next month.
Another source reported that Apple might not release the latest hardware since they will finally put a stop to the Mac line. However, it was mentioned in MacRumors that the CEO of Apple, Tim Cook, has recently confirmed that the production of the Mac computer will still continue. Replying to an e-mail where someone inquired if there will be no Mac line anymore, Cook said: "I love the Mac and we are very committed to it. Stay Tuned."
As for the design of the upcoming computer, there are rumors that it will contain an OLED touch display and it will be located just above the keyboard. The size of the MacBook Pro will be 13 inches and it might have a slimmer design. The computer will be lighter as well and its trackpad will be bigger this time. Moreover, the trackpad may actually feature a Force Touch technology.
There are also speculations that the port of the laptop will be USB Type-C and it is also expected to have a Thunderbolt 3 function which will make data transfer faster. It may be powered by an Intel Kaby Lake processor and buyers can also opt to choose an 8GB or 16GB RAM. The SSD options for the computer may possibly be 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.
