LG 4K HDR monitor release date, specs: Company announces newest high-end monitors to arrive next month
The South Korean electronics company, LG, recently announced that it plans to unveil some high-end monitors early next year.
In a recent statement, LG says they are "pushing the industry to the next level" by introducing 32-inch monitors that will be able to support high-dynamic range content with 4K ultra high definition capabilities.
The high-end 32-inch monitor will be unveiled during the global Consumer Electronics Show happening from Jan. 5 to 8 next year in Las Vegas, Nevada.
LG explained that the number of gaming and movie content produced to support HDR technology is growing. "With professional-grade picture quality and exceptionally vibrant colors, HDR compatible monitors will appeal to creative professionals, gamers, and anyone else that takes image quality seriously," LG added in its statement.
LG's 32-inch UHD 4K monitor, with model number 32UD99, will support 3,840 x 2,160 pixel resolution and promises to deliver recognizable improvement in the brightness levels and gamut imagery. To do this, LG's upcoming monitors will also support the HDR10 standard that has a 10-bit color profile. HDR10 has become the choice of format for several electronics companies that have produced HDR-capable TVs before.
LG also promised, through the same statement, that the upcoming 32UD99 will sport in-plane switching panels. LG is apparently targeting the media industries as it promises that the upcoming monitor will be able to display more than 95 percent of the DCI-P3 color space. The mentioned color space is commonly used in digital movie projection, especially in the United States.
At the same time, LG will also want to cater to the gaming industry's needs especially now that consoles and game titles have been updating to support 4K and HDR projection.
As explained by LG in its statement, "With the recent introduction of a new generation of HDR capable game consoles, the 32UD99 is well-equipped to meet the increasing demands of players world over as HDR gaming becomes the new standard in home entertainment."
Though the 32-inch 4K HDR monitors will be showcased next month, LG is yet to announce when these monitors will be available to the market.
