During the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show, Lexus showcased the LF-FC Concept vehicle in order to give spectators a peek into "the design and technology direction of the brand's future flagship sedan." Lexus also surprised spectators when it announced that the LF-FC Concept was going to be a fuel cell vehicle.

Lexus has given the LF-FC Concept optimal front-rear weight distribution by placing mounting the fuel cell stack in the trunk, its power control unit under the hood and the hydrogen storage tanks in the center. The design layout also helps give a sporty sedan driving feel.

The LF-FC Concept runs on a rear-drive system but it will also have a motor up front to allow for an all-wheel-drive capability.

At this point, Lexus has yet to reveal specific technical and powertrain details. However, given that it is a high-end luxury sedan, it is being speculated that it will have more power than other fuel cell vehicles like Toyota Mirai or the Honda Clarity.

The LF-FC Concept has been designed to showcase the fusion of distinctive style and engineering functionality. The sedan's design looks aggressive and powerful, but also elegant at the same time. It features a sleek silhouette, sweeping lines and dynamic angles.

The front fascia also features a bold interpretation of Lexus' signature spindle grille. The bottom corners of the mesh-patterned grille feature air intakes. The sedan also has floating L-shaped daytime running lights and taillights. To give a sporty feel, there are also large 21-inch wheels.

Inside, the cabin features a futuristic and minimalist design. The interiors feature soft-touch materials and organic shapes. The dashboard is deeply scooped and features a curved center console.

Lexus also revealed that the LF-FC Concept features a human-machine interface. Instead of touchscreen displays or buttons, there is a small holographic image in the center console where drivers can input gesture controls to activate certain features of the sedan.

The interiors also feature "floating" front seats, reclining rear seats and aniline leather upholstery.

The all-new Lexus LS sedan is expected to debut during the 2016 Detroit Auto Show this January. Stay tuned to see how much of the LF-FC Concept will be integrated into Lexus' upcoming flagship sedan.
