The ultra thin 2-in-1 Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro, slated for a late October release date, was unveiled in a London event last week, along with Yoga Tablet Pro 2 and Yoga Tablet 2.

"The new YOGA 3 Pro convertible PC is the result of continual refinement and listening to customer feedback," said Dilip Bhatia, Vice President of Design and Marketing, PC Group, Lenovo, in the official press release.

Bhatia continued, "While users told us they loved what YOGA allows them to do with the four modes, they wanted it even thinner and lighter. We have responded with an innovative new hinge design, and continued to evolve YOGA into a truly adaptable, intelligent device. Today I believe YOGA is among the world's best notebook computers."

The new Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro specs parades speedy and powerful Intel Core M Processors, Windows 8.1 OS, 3200 x 1800 QHD display with multitouch display that flips back 360 degrees, and up to 9 hours of battery life,

The computer sells for between $1,349.99 to $1,549.99.

The portable Yoga 3 Pro weighs around 1.18 kg and is 0.5 inches thin.

"The new Lenovo YOGA 3 Pro design is an outstanding example of the innovation we are seeing in 2-in-1 systems," said Kirk Skaugen, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the PC Client Group at Intel.

Skaugen continued, "With its incredibly thin design and four modes, combined with the processing performance in our new Intel Core M processor, users now have amazing flexibility on a single 2-in-1 system to work and play the way they want to, whether it's enjoying content like movies and music or working on their next presentation."

The newest kid on the block has however received mixed reviews so far.

"As an example of the new breed of Broadwell-based ultrabooks, Lenovo's Yoga 3 Pro looks impressive so far. It's very thin and light, incorporates nice design tweaks like the watchband hinge, has a great screen and seems to deliver decent performance in a fanless chassis without getting too warm," according to a review by Charles McLellan of ZDNet.

Mikael Ricknas of PC World writes in his review that it feels like this updated version of Yoga 3 is a "light laptop and a heavy tablet."

Lenovo Yoga 3 Pro release date is planned for the end of October.
