'Legends of Tomorrow' season 2 premiere spoilers: Nick Zano's Citizen Steel to rescue members of Legends

(Facebook/Legends of Tomorrow)Nick Zano's Dr. Nate Heywood character will be eventually known as Citizen Steel on DC's "Legends of Tomorrow."

Nick Zano's entry in the upcoming season 2 of "Legends of Tomorrow" as Dr. Nate Heywood is simply not for the sake of the show having a new face as his character will play an important role in gathering back the original superheroes of the show who are scattered in different timelines.

Avid DC comic book fans know too well that Dr. Nate Heywood is the grandson of original Justice Society of America member, Commander Steel. He is a historian who eventually finds himself in a situation that will make him unleash the superpowers he didn't think he has.

When Dr. Nate Heywood finds out that he has powers, he will overcome his own insecurities and create a hero of himself, although he was devoid of powers and time-travel experience at first. Whether he will discover his powers before or after the mission handed to him, one thing is certain: Nate Heywood will be successful in rescuing the members of the Legends and will eventually be known as Citizen Steel.

"He's sort of our audience's point of view. Coming into this world, he's the guy who hasn't traveled through time (and) doesn't have powers," said "Legends of Tomorrow" showrunner Phil Klemmer during an interview with TV Line.

Meanwhile, apart from Zano's Nate Heywood/Citizen Steel, "Legends of Tomorrow" is ushering in another DC character in the series, Stargirl, who will be breathed to life by Sarah Grey, who is also a cast member of next year's "Power Rangers" movie. According to reports, the character will work with Patrick J. Adams' Hourman character, who was already introduced in the season finale of "Legends of Tomorrow" season 1.

Another newbie in the series is Maisie Richardson-Sellers, who will breathe life to the earlier version of Vixen, a DC superhero who was previously played by Megalyn Echikunwoke, who couldn't reprise the role she portrayed earlier on "Arrow" because of her prior show biz commitments.

"Legends of Tomorrow" begins airing its second season on Oct. 13 at 8 p.m. over The CW.
