'Legends of Tomorrow' season 2 rumors: Green Lantern to appear for a cameo; Hawkman, Hawkgirl to return

(Facebook/DC's Legends of Tomorrow)Rumor has it that Hawkman and Hawkgirl will appear once more on "Legends of Tomorrow" season 2.

After months of hiatus, "Legends of Tomorrow" is finally coming back to the small screen for its season 2 next week. While it has already been announced earlier that the series will now feature the Justice Society of America, it is said that the original Green Lantern may appear for a cameo, while Hawkman (Falk Hentschel) and Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee) may return to the series as guests as well.

Even before "Legends of Tomorrow" season 1 ended last May, it was already announced that the upcoming season 2 of the series about the Waverider superheroes would feature the Justice Society of America. While the comic version of the said group of superheroes consists of different and numerous DC superheroes throughout the years, "Legends of Tomorrow's" version will be made up of Hourman (Patrick J. Adams), Commander Steel (Matthew MacCaull), Vixen (Maisie Richardson-Sellers), Obsidian (Lance Henriksen), Stargirl (Sarah Grey), and Dr. Midnight (Kwesi Ameyaw).

However, they are not the only DC classic superheroes who will be seen on "Legends of Tomorrow" as it is possible for Green Lantern to appear on the show, too. According to reports, it is suspected that Allan Scott, the original Green Lantern, is making an appearance on the show as well as Obisidian as his son, and his Green Lantern ring has been teased.

In addition to the possible appearance of the original Green Lantern, it is also speculated that former "Legends of Tomorrow" characters, Hawkman (Falk Hentschel) and Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee), are also returning to the series as "Legends of Tomorrow" executive producer Marc Guggenheim tweeted a photo showing the Egyptian hieroglyphs illustrations featuring the Waverider.

As Hawkman and Hawkgirl were Egyptians in their previous lives, it is believed that the Waverider will arrive in Ancient Egypt and will meet Prince Khufu and Priestess Chay-Ara, the previous incarnations of Hawkman and Hawkgirl, respectively.

It can be recalled that the season 1 finale of "Legends of Tomorrow" featured Hawkman and Hawkgirl finally succeeding in their 4,000-year quest to kill the immortal Vandal Savage. With Vandal Savage killed, Renee exited the show as a series regular, while Hentschel had always been a recurring guest.

"Legends of Tomorrow" returns to The CW for its season 2 on Oct. 13.
