Jeremy Lin injury updates: Brooklyn Nets point guard's return to court still uncertain

(Reuters/Stinger)Jeremy Lin's return to the hardcourt is dependent on how his injury responds to the step-by-step process of his rehabilitation treatment.

After figuring in another hamstring injury a day after Christmas, Jeremy Lin still cannot confirm as to when he will return to the basketball court to deliver the kind of game he is known for.

According to the latest reports, Lin has issued a statement for the first time at the Barclays Center earlier this week since he injured his hamstring for the second time around, and, there, he revealed that his current injury is not as painful as how it was the last time.

Despite, this, though, the Brooklyn Nets point guard could not give a definite answer as to when he can possibly play again. According to Lin, it will be hard for him to predict so as everything is dependent on every step of the rehab process needed to treat it.

"It's a different area, the other side, and it hurt a lot less when it happened. Everything's progressing better than the previous one, so I'm definitely very encouraged. Definitely, if it was the same exact spot, it'd be a different tune," Lin said.

It has been learned that the rehab that Lin undergoes focuses on strengthening his hamstring. Once the rehab succeeds, Lin revealed that he can be more aggressive once he returns to the court.

Meanwhile, prior to issuing a statement earlier this week, Lin acknowledged on his Instagram account that the current season of the NBA has been a painful one for him, not only physically but also emotionally and mentally. The point guard also took the opportunity to share his spiritual beliefs on the said post, saying that it is a way for him to practice gratitude even over the smallest things.

"But God's been teaching me a lot about gratitude for the little things, full surrender of my greatest dreams, humility in service to my teammates, and trust in His perfect timing. I'm working extremely hard to get right again...thanks again for the love! Go Nets!!" goes a portion of Lin's post.
