iPad Pro tips and tricks: get the most out of it with Virtual touchpad, Apple Pencil pairing and more
As reviews have started arriving for the iPad Pro, it is clear that the giant tablet from Apple has succeeded on various fronts but will not be able to replace a laptop. However, it is essential for users to understand the tips and tricks that can be used on the device, some of which are listed below.
Checking battery percentage
There is a battery indicator on the iPad Pro and it can display the percentage of charge right next to it. TIME states that users can turn this on by navigating Settings > Usage > Battery Percentage and using the toggle button.
Choosing which apps to display
Users can choose which apps they want displayed on the home screen of the tablet. Also as there is more space to play with apps, six can be positioned at the bottom of the screen by long pressing each and dragging and dropping it into position.
Pairing the Apple Pencil
Using the Apple Pencil along with the iPad Pro can be confusing at first as the stylus does not have a button for pairing. Additionally the tablet does not have an app that is dedicated to the Apple Pencil so users will have to pair the two by opening the pencil and plugging it into the Lightning port. This will initiate the pairing process and users just have to click "Pair" when the onscreen prompt appears.
Open apps without moving out of the current app
The sidebar on the iPad Pro can be used to open other apps which are compatible with the one that is currently in use. Users just have to swipe in from the right of the screen and they can then select the app they need and even run two in a split screen.
Employ a virtual touchpad
Users can now position the cursor accurately when they are typing on the screen of the iPad by using two fingers, which will cause a virtual touchpad to show up and it will allow for easier navigation from one word to another.
