iPad Air 3 news: Speculated release date, specs, and features
The announcement of an upcoming iPad Air 3 has been expected since the first quarter of this year; however, Apple events have come gone and the year is about to end yet no announcement has been made. New reports suggest that it will be released in March 2017 and it will be the last of the Apple "Air" line.
In March this year, Apple launched an iPad Pro line that included a 9.7-inch size. This started speculations that the Cupertino-based company is doing away with the Air brand, but supposed features and specs of the iPad Air 3 continue to make the news.
Apple's latest event happened last month, yet iPad Air 3 did not make an appearance and new reports suggest the device will instead be released in March next year and that it will be the last device to be made under the Apple iPad Air brand.
Aside from the 9.7-inch screen display size, other rumored specs and features of the anticipated tablet include the A9 chipset, 2K resolution with amazing 3D display, and 400 ppi. It is also believed to come with a 3 GB RAM and 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash.
iPad Air 2 was introduced in 2014, which prompted many to believe that a new-generation iPad Air tablet should be due this year. The Air brand of Apple boasts of its device's thinness without compromising the function. The devices under the iPad Pro line are thin but, because of their many other operations, they are generally heavier and thicker than the Air line.
Apple has not announced any upcoming event before the year ends, but hopes are still up that the company will announce a surprise release in time for the holidays. For now, it would be best to just wait for official announcements.
