Apple has not confirmed that it will release new versions of two of its devices, the iPad Air and iPad Mini, but fans were looking forward to the new models at Apple's recent event in March. However, to their disappointment, the iPad Air 3 and iPad Mini 5 were nowhere in sight at the time.

This did not stop Apple fans from speculating that these two new devices will be introduced late this year. After all, the iPad Mini has become a yearly release, with the current one introduced into the market in September 2015.

On the other hand, the iPad Air series is one of the most anticipated gadgets this year. The last time Apple released a new model of this lineup was in 2014. Since it was absent during the March event, people started to believe that the new iPad Pro 2016 introduced at the said event is indeed the iPad Air 3.

However, there are also other reports suggesting that Apple may have just shifted their focus on the 2016 iPad Pro, but will still release iPad Air 3 and iPad Mini 5 sometime in September. Whatever the case may be, fans are hoping that they will see new iPad Air and Mini models soon.

As for the specs, the iPad Air 3 is said to have a 9.7-inch display with a resolution of 2048x1536 pixels. It is also likely to run on an A10 or A10x processor for a more superior machine performance.

For the iPad Mini 5, rumors suggest that the device could have a pre-installed iOS 10 straight from the box. It is also expected to be thinner than the iPad Mini 4. Fans have also expressed that they wanted a new iPad Mini to also have the 3D-touch technology, which is found in the latest iPhones.

Then again, as interesting as these rumors may be, they should be treated accordingly. Those who are looking forward to new releases from Apple should just stay tuned for more updates on the iPad Air 3 and iPad Mini 5.
