iOS 9 release date rumors heat up ahead of WWDC; will include Apple Music?
There is huge anticipation as Apple heads to its Worldwide Developer Conference in June where it is expected the company will announce the arrival of iOS 9. Recent indications have also pointed towards Apple introducing a new Proactive feature that will bring something similar to Google Now onto devices like the iPhone and iPad.
In addition there are rumors that Apple Music will finally find its way to iPhones and iPads. This has long been in the works since Apple took over the streaming service provided by Beats Electronics after it acquired it for 3 billion dollars. With the WWDC round the corner many believe that Apple will introduce the Beats Music service in iOS 9 where it will be renamed Apple Music. The features in the service could include a music library, customizable playlists and it would even allow those with preexisting Beats accounts to merge into the new service.
Another big rumor about iOS points towards the inclusion of multitasking in it and if this is true it indicates that Apple is planning on taking on its competitors like Microsoft that already provide such a feature on their tablet/laptop hybrid devices.
As for the addition of Force Touch support, it is expected that Apple will put less emphasis on it during the upcoming WWDC and instead focus on it when the new iPhone and iPad range releases with the technology this September.
The addition of the Proactive however is being billed as big step by Apple as it will allow users to check informing from a number of apps in one area much like the Google Now service on Android devices.
Forbes reporting on the features included in Proactive states that it will collect information from various sources like "Siri, Contacts, Calendar, Passbook, and third-party apps to create contextually aware information." For example if a person is about to board a flight listed in their calendar they will get a popup bubble which will provide them quick access to the boarding pass in Passbook. With Proactive contextually linking information just like Google Now it also expected to be integrated with Spotlight search, and even tie into the Apple Watch.
