iOS 9.3.3 Jailbreak update: Apple blocks enterprise certificate needed for jailbreak

(Regis Duvignau / Reuters)Apple blocks jailbreak for iOS 9.3.3.

After the release of iOS update 9.3.3, popular jailbreak creators Pangu and 25PP also followed suit and launched a jailbreak app for both iOS 9.2 and 9.3.3. It was even made available on the web browser via Safari so users will no longer have to use a computer.

However, just recently, Apple blocked the enterprise certificate that is required to complete the jailbreak process, in order to stop all attempts of jailbreaking their newest iOS.

According to reports, the most recent jailbreaking attempts received an error with a prompt message: "Unable to Download App—'PPJailbreak' could not be installed at this time." The error note provides two options — Done and Retry — but choosing either still doesn't seem to work. Apparently, the tech giant is tracking down all of the misused enterprise certificate systems and blocking them to heighten the security of the certificate system in general.

It can be noted that jailbreaks are technically a misuse of the said system because it is a software modification provided outside Apple itself. However, a lot of users are looking forward to it and using it for unlocking and widening the capabilities of the iOS.

It's unfortunate that Pangu has not yet addressed the issues that users are facing regarding the newest jailbreak. However, there is still a chance for others to get their jailbreaks, and according to reports, it is through the Windows-based jailbreak tool of 25PP. The bad news is that the said jailbreak for iOS 9.2-9.3.3 is currently available in Chinese. The English version is yet to be released.

The Pangu iOS 9.3.3 jailbreak tool is a semi-untethered solution only. This means that even though the device is already jailbroken, it will still go back to its factory settings after every reboot.

Pangu is expected to release a fix for the iOS 9.3.3 jailbreak soon. Meanwhile, they are working on the jailbreak for the upcoming iOS 10, which may come out in September.
