HTC One 10 release date: Could an HTC Desire handset also arrive at April 12 event?
With all eyes focused on the arrival of the HTC 10, which is thought to be arriving on Apr. 10, it seems that very little attention has been paid to other devices that could be released alongside it. However, rumors have emerged that HTC is planning to bring out a new Desire smartphone on the same day.
The possible arrival of the Desire smartphone was hinted at by Twitter user @LlabTooFeR, and in a tweet, he went on to specify that it would have an A56 code name. He also mentioned that it would be arriving along with the HTC 10 that has been code-named Perfume. While this is not surprising, it is the first time that rumors about a new phone in the Desire lineup have surfaced.
HTC also revealed new devices in the Desire lineup recently and they came with plastic bodies with speckles ingrained in them. Devices in the Desire lineup are generally much cheaper than the metal bodied smartphones that are released as part of the HTC One lineup, and the upcoming Desire A56 is expected to follow this tradition. Also, the HTC Desire A56 is expected to have a plastic body like many of its siblings that have released as part of the lineup over the years.
Meanwhile, HTC has only been teasing the upcoming HTC 10 and has not mentioned the Desire A56 so far. Therefore, industry analysts have taken the rumors about the device with a pinch of salt and have stated that it is better to wait for the Apr. 12 event instead of jumping to conclusions about the Desire A56. Other rumors, meanwhile, point toward HTC bringing out an HTC 10 Mini to appeal to those who prefer small-screen devices and there are indications that it will have a 4.7-inch display. As for the release date of the HTC 10 Mini, it is expected to only arrive sometime in September of this year.
