Poison Ivy will have already transformed into a full-fledged adult and villain once "Gotham" season 3 returns for its season 3 this fall.

According to TV Line, "Gotham" is ushering in an actress in her late teens to breathe life to the iconic DC character. With this, fans of the series will no longer see Clare Foley in the series as the young Ivy Pepper, an orphan who has a disturbing fascination for plants as featured on the show's first two seasons.

Cinema Blend opines that the move to make Ivy older in the upcoming season of "Gotham" must have something to do with the law on the working hours of minors. As Foley is only 14 years old, she cannot work for longer hours on the set, hence, the move to make the character older.

Meanwhile, apart from featuring a full-grown Poison Ivy, a few episodes of "Gotham" season 3 will also tackle U.S. politics as the show is set to come up with its own version of the upcoming U.S. presidential elections happening in November this year.

"'Gotham,' like many superhero stories, is a parallel of today's society, of what happens every day ... and in the third season, in the fall, when the United States will stand preparing to face one of the most important presidential elections in their history, even 'Gotham' will address in parallel the issue," confirmed Michael Smith, who plays the role of Edward Nygma in "Gotham," in his interview with Cinefilos, which was translated by Comic Book to English from its original Italian version.

TV Line also reported earlier that "Gotham" development executive producer John Stephens said that Gotham City will experience a lot of changes upon unleashing the monsters from Hugo Strange's (BD Wong) bus.

For Comic Book Resources, though, one thing that is really worth looking forward to in "Gotham" season 3 is the arrival of Talon, a.k.a. William Cobb. According to the online publication, with Stephens earlier hinting that the Court of Owls will get a better exposure in "Gotham" season 3, fans can expect more riveting action scenes as it was Talon whom the Court of Owls sent to kill Batman in the comic books.

"Gotham" returns to Fox for its season 3 airing on Sept. 19.
