Google Nexus 7 2016 release date, specs rumors: new tablet launching this month?
Amidst rumors of new Nexus 2016 devices, Google is also supposedly secretly preparing for the release of a Nexus 7 successor. According to reports, the next Nexus tablet could be launched in September.
Word has it that the next Nexus 7 tablet will be out by September, the same month when the final build of the latest operating system from Android, the Android Nougat, is expected to be released. However, there are also reports stating that Google might decide to have a much earlier release date, possibly sometime this month as Nougat will reportedly be finished this August.
It is also believed that the Nexus 7 2016 tablet's release is imminent since Google has stopped the sales of the Google Nexus 9 tablet. Although, this doesn't entirely mean anything, it could signal that a new device will arrive soon.
As for the specs, the Nexus 7 2016 is expected to carry a Snapdragon 820 chipset coupled with 4 GB of RAM. It is said that the device can have 128 GB of storage capacity, the same as the Nexus 6P. Since it is speculated to be released in September, the tablet is also assumed to have a preinstalled Android Nougat as its operating system.
It is also believed that Huawei will be behind the creation of the upcoming tablet. Asus originally helmed previous Nexus 7 tablets, but it seems that the Taiwanese manufacturer will sit this one out.
For the price, the tablet is said to be another affordable gadget, just like the previous models, PC Advisor notes. The Nexus 7 2016 should carry a price tag of around $260.
It remains to be seen if a new Nexus 7 2016 tablet will be unveiled this month or the next as the company hasn't said anything official yet. Fans should take all reports with a pinch of salt until Google announces the details about the tablet.
