The first season of "Goliath" was praised by viewers and critics alike and an announcement for a second season is highly anticipated. According to reports, Amazon said, "Goliath" has become "the top binged first season of a US-produced Amazon original series ever over its first ten days." Although the network has not shared what the basis of the ranking is, it confirmed that it means no other American-made Amazon series had a higher completion rate in ten days.

It would be safe to say that the network is pleased with the show's performance and a season renewal announcement may be made soon. "Goliath" follows the story of lawyer Billy McBride, who is seeking for redemption by taking on a difficult case. Billy is portrayed by actor Bob Thornton,who has been praised for his portrayal as well.

In an interview with Amazon, Thornton revealed he has wanted to portray that kind of character for a long time. He described Billy as a nonconventional guy whose journey parallels with his own life. He said, "I've always been kind of not really a part of Hollywood. I'm also getting older in a world that's very different than it was when I came into this business. So I'm trying to figure out my position in it and the future, and I'm not the type to give up either."

The first season ended with a conclusion and, should a "Goliath" season 2 be ordered, viewers expect a new situation and more new characters.
