'Frozen 2' rumors: Tinkerbell to be Elsa's girlfriend in the sequel

(Facebook/Tinker Bell)Rumor has it that Tinkerbell will be featured as Elsa's girlfriend in "Frozen 2."

After causing the fans to engage in a Twitter war earlier this year, rumors claiming that Elsa will be revealed as a lesbian in the much-talked about "Frozen 2" have resurfaced once more. This time, it is said that the Ice Queen featured in the Disney 2013 blockbuster, "Frozen," will embrace her true sexuality and will have another Disney popular character as a girlfriend in the sequel.

It was in May this year when "Frozen" fans engaged in a Twitter war after it was suggested by the LGBT community that the Disney character be given a girlfriend in the "Frozen" sequel. The hashtag #GiveElsaAGirlfriend trended online and was countered by those opposed to the idea with another hashtag saying #CharmingPrinceForElsa.

However, if the latest rumors are to be believed, it seems that the LGBT community has finally convinced Disney to cave in to their demand as, reportedly, Elsa will, indeed, have a girlfriend in "Frozen 2," and it is no less than Tinkerbell who will be here love interest in the upcoming sequel.

It has been learned that the rumors of Elsa having Tinkerbell as her girlfriend in "Frozen 2" stemmed from Idina Menzel's (the Broadway actress who lends her voice to the character) idea as a reply to a question asked to her when she recently guested on "Ellen Digital Network" show if Elsa is, indeed, a lesbian.

"I cannot confirm or deny. If I tell you, I would have to kill you," said Menzel to host Tyler Oakley.

"I think in 'Frozen 1', she was young, so she's still figuring stuff out," Menzel added, which bolstered the belief of many that the Ice Queen may, indeed, be featured as a lesbian in the "Frozen" sequel.

When asked who the possible love interest for Elsa may be, Menzel then quipped, "Tinkerbell?"

Will Elsa really turn out to be a lesbian in "Frozen 2?" Will Tinkerbell be her love interest?

Fans can only wait and see.
