'Frozen 2' movie already in production, singer Idina Menzel confirms
Disney has always looked the other way when asked about a sequel to their hit animated movie 'Frozen,' but actress and singer Idina Menzel finally broke the ice, both literally and figuratively, about a 'Frozen 2' follow-up to the smash hit. Menzel voiced one of the lead characters, Elsa.
Menzel talked to Telegraph and answered a couple of questions regarding the sequel, and was asked whether a stage musical is among the plans Disney has in order to prolong the movie's presence.
"They're all in the works," Menzel candidly said, during the interview with Telegraph.
Menzel has previously starred in Broadway classics such as 'Rent' and 'Wicked,' which ultimately kickstarted her career. In the first movie, Menzel sang the song that quickly became every little girls' favorite song, "Let It Go."
It's truly been a ride for Menzel, especially when young girls are surprised to find out that Elsa is not a blonde-haired Scandinavian girl, but rather a Broadway veteran who has been singing on stage for two decades.
"All the little girls love Elsa but they also want to meet me. I think that's because of social media, and their parents say, 'Watch this, this is the girl at the Oscars,'" said Menzel in the interview.
Previously, representatives from Disney have denied all plans of making a sequel of Frozen, saying that it is the least of their priorities and that the animation studio is on to other projects.
