'Fast and Furious 8' news: Paul Walker to appear in new sequel?
Brothers of the late actor Paul Walker recently revealed that actor and producer Vin Diesel spoke to them about Brian O'Conner's possible appearance in future sequels. While filming for "Fast and Furious 8" has already wrapped up, some speculate that Brian will already appear in the coming sequel.
Cody and Caleb Walker obliged an interview with ET Online to promote the second annual Game4Paul fundraiser, which benefits Reach Out WorldWide (ROWW). Paul was known to be active in giving back to those in need, and ROWW is meant to reach those in need of disaster relief.
During the interview, they revealed that Diesel reached out to the family to ask if it is "acceptable" to bring Paul's' character back just to really "kind of let his fans know he's still out there."
Paul was one of the lead stars of the "Fast and Furious" movie franchise and his untimely death came as he was still working on the previous installment. Paul already shot most of his scenes when the mishap happened and, in order to keep him alive in the franchise, the plot was adjusted so that he retires from the fast and dangerous life, to concentrate on his family when the movie ended.
In order to finish his scenes, both brothers were asked to stand in for him and, with the aid of technology, Paul was seen in "Fast and Furious 7" in most of the scenes. While the brothers didn't say which sequel it is going to happen, there are some who speculate that viewers will see him as early as the eighth installment.
During the interview, they revealed that filling in for Paul helped them process the grief. They also revealed that they got to know their brother more in the process. Caleb said, "We got to understand more about Paul, and what he was all about." Caleb added, "We had to share Paul with a lot of people, in a weird way. He was gone a lot, he was filming, so we missed him. Sometimes at the holidays he wasn't always there, you know? He tried. We'd see him on set, we visited a few times, but to kind of get that closure, and understanding Paul was really special."
Paul has endeared himself to his co-walkers and to his fans who would love to see him again on the big screen. Diesel has not yet commented on what the Walker brothers shared so it is still unclear whether Brian will be seen right away.
"Fast and Furious 8" will premiere on April 14, 2017.
