Rapper Drake is set to release his latest album, "Views From the 6." While no official release date has been revealed, news reports are pointing to a possible January release.

Last November, Daily Rap's Twitter hinted at a Jan. 6, 2016 release date but the day has come and gone without Drake's new album hitting the shelves.

Drake also updated his Instagram yesterday with a video of him playing Ping-Pong. "Studio breaks getting serious," he captioned the video. Based on the recently uploaded video, it seems like Drake is still busy recording in the studio. However, it could also be for new material not included in "Views From the 6."

According to the Inquisitr, Drake was in Miami for New Year's and revealed to the crowds that the album was "coming very soon."

It is possible that like his previous releases, Drake will also release "Views From the 6" without any warning.

In 2015, Drake released two mixtapes - "If You're Reading This It's Too Late" last February and "What a Time to Be Alive" last September. Despite no prior announcements, both mixtapes debuted at the top spot on the Billboard 200 Chart.

Drake may also be taking his time with the upcoming album. "Views From the 6" pays homage to his birthplace, Toronto, and features a new grown-up perspective.

According to an interview with The Fader, Drake decided to come home after spending the past few years touring and setting up base in Los Angeles. Drake also re-teamed with music engineer and producer Noah "40" Shebib, whom he had collaborated with during his earlier years.

"Hotline Bling" is considered as the first single from "Views From the 6." The single was first released in July 2015 and its music video has since gone viral.

According to Billboard, it is rumored that Beyoncé, Tinashe and Willow Smith may also feature in the upcoming album.
