Downton Abbey season 5: New young characters to star in new season
The highly-rated British period drama, Downton Abbey, will return for a fifth season this year, and new characters have been reported to join the already stellar ensemble.
The massively famous PBS drama has been renewed for season 5, and reports say that actors fresh from acting school will be the new addition to the award-winning cast. While some might think that they are seasoned actors, these new Downton Abbey recruits are actually children.
According to Hastings Observer, the children picked to be in the world-famous show are Harry Seymour, Louis Selling, Morgan Smith, Nyah Braisby, Sophie Apthorp, and Brandon Pohlhammer. Two of these young and aspiring were casted as choir boys in the said show and have spent the last few weeks filming with Dame Maggie Smith.
"The students play children in the local village school, and two were also choir boys filming with Dame Maggie Smith, reporting that they were thrilled to work with Professor McGonagall from Harry Potter!" said Vanessa Pohlhammer, director of the Hastings Stage Studio, where the kids are enrolled in.
The producers of Downton Abbey are more than excited on how the fifth season will unfold, and one producer assured their audiences that the complex beauty and dramatic climaxes of the show will not only remain, but will get better.
"Audiences have enjoyed their regular Sunday evening visits back to Downton once again this autumn and we are thrilled to produce a new series of the show next year," said producer Gareth Neame, as reported by Screenrant. "We promise all the usual highs and lows, romance, drama and comedy played out by some of the most iconic characters on television. All the actors and makers of the show continue to be humbled by the extraordinary audience response and want to take the show from strength to strength next year."
