'Destiny: Rise of Iron' DLC update: Bungie reveals their wolves mo-cap actor is Ghost of 'Game of Thrones'
As the release of the "Destiny: Rise of Iron" downloadable content (DLC) nears, Bungie reveals more and more information about the title's last expansion. Recently, they confirmed that the model of their wolves is "Game of Thrones'" Ghost.
Ghost is Jon Snow's (Kit Harington) direwolf in HBO's "Game of Thrones." Wolves are also important in the "Destiny: Rise of Iron" DLC, as can be seen in the trailer. Apparently, the ones around the character Saladin have Ghost as their motion capture actor.
"The dog actor - who I believe is actually called Ghost - is our wolf mo-cap," "Rise of Iron" producer Scott Taylor told Eurogamer. "It was like a rock star coming in."
As wolves hugely represent the DLC, Taylor revealed that their audio team even had to spend the night at a wolf sanctuary called Wolf Haven. They successfully obtained a lot of audios, but there were issues they encountered such as wolves howling each other.
"So they would send stuff over and get excited when it was just a single wolf," he said.
He further promised that players will be able to hear a lot of distant howling as they travel the Plaguelands.
In other "Rise of Iron" news, it has now been confirmed that the upcoming DLC will feature a weapon and class rebalancing at launch, Gaming Bolt reported. It was previously rumored to arrive later on, which stemmed from a misunderstanding in a Game Informer interview.
A Bungie representative took to a Reddit thread discussing the issue to clarify that Taylor misspoke in the video. The thread also confirmed that the Year 3 Thorn will be the same as the current Thorn but with new Light Level.
"Destiny: Rise of Iron" will be the last DLC of the series and will be released on Sept. 20 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
