"Criminal Minds" has always been an intense series since season one so fans are always on the lookout for news about their favorite TV drama, anything that can help them prepare for what's to come.

Hardcore fans will be glad to know that season 11 of the popular CBS show will have a more serialized feel to it, with the various members of the BAU getting their own story arcs instead of the whole season just focused on catching criminals.

The change appears to have been confirmed by Matthew Gray Gubler, who plays Criminal Minds' font of all knowledge, Dr. Spencer Reid. According to the erstwhile model, season 11 will be "exciting, spooky" and with some team members in danger, which is just par for the course.

Gubler's character himself will feature more prominently next season, with the spotlight hopefully shining more on his personal life. Fans of Dr. Reid are also hoping that he will finally have a girlfriend next season, something that the actor himself has wished for.

Luckily, it seems that the producers and writers of "Criminal Minds" are giving fans what they wants as showrunner, Erica Messer, revealed that the young genius will have a very big moment right off the bat when season 11 starts. There have been rumblings as well that Jane Lynch, who portrayed Diana Reid in past seasons, will be back. As for the good doctor's love life, there's been some speculation that the BAU's newest member, Aisha Tyler's Dr. Tara Lewis, might capture Reid's interest.

Dave Rossi's (Joe Mantegna) daughter, Joy (Amber Stevens), will reportedly be making an appearance in episode seven of the upcoming season. While there's no news yet on the storyline or on why she'll be back, Messer has admitted that they would love for the character to appear for several episodes and beef up Rossi's storyline.

One thing that is different next season is that aside from the usual unsubs that the BAU will be dealing with, the team is also facing off against a group of hit men known as "The Dirty Dozen." According to reports, this group will be hounding the team throughout the season.

"Criminal Minds" is set to return to CBS for an 11th season on Sept. 30, 2015.
